At the school’s Fountain of Hope, on the fateful morning of Tuesday May the 16th, the British miners decided to rebel against Margaret Thatcher’s government. The purpose was to oppose the closing of the coal pits in 1984. The people present at the picket lines were Margaret Thatcher, Queen Elizabeth and the archbishop among other members of the English government. On the miner’s side, led by none other than the head of the miner’s union, David Donovan, known for his charismatic speeches which garnered the support of the LGBT community.
“It was a really interesting debate; playing an important historical event really helps one to connect with history on a deeper level,” as stated by the archbishop.

“I enjoyed performing in front of other students, especially with the banners; I hope we have inspired them to speak up for what is right,” solemnly stated George Washington DC the 4th.

“The debate was nothing less than a nice occasion to talk to lowly uneducated folks in order to teach them about the divine truth. I was kind enough to hear what they had to say and will absolutely not consider their opinion for my decision,” affirmed Queen Elizabeth II.

“It was fascinating to develop the movie tropes and characters in order to create a realistic yet imaginative dialogue between two opposing sides; to bring closer what was only meant to be further, that was our true will,” mentioned Hefina Headon, a Welsh miner’s widow.

“I truly enjoyed doing this debate outside, for it was a chance to practice public speaking for the first time; the soft whisper of the wind, the fading screams of the children playing in the background, the harsh but undoubtedly besotted looks on the bystanders’ faces. Facing all of this was a greater challenge than one could imagine”, the miners’ accountant declared.

Fish and chips are truly delicious food, football is the most watched sport in the world, and British music has seen the birth of legends such as Queen and Elton John. But very few know much more about this isolated island to the North of Europe. Its rich history, even in the contemporary era, makes it the subject of plenty of movies. This covers our theme in English LCE on the United kingdom since 1973: to study a great country, we must accomplish great projects.
